High- / Ultra-High-Pressure Hoses
PTFE and PFA Hoses, Multi-Layer Braiding
PTFE and PFA hoses are used in applications with demanding requirements for pressure, temperature and media resistance. Depending on the specific requirements, smooth-bore, convoluted and spiral-convoluted hoses are available in different material grades and nominal sizes. A suitably designed braid can be used to specifically increase the mechanical stability and pressure resistance of the hose system.

Ultra-High-Pressure Hoses
Multi-layer hose braids are used when single-layer designs do not sufficiently meet the required pressure, temperature, media-resistance or protection requirements. Depending on the application, two, three or up to four braided layers made from metallic or textile materials are applied to a carrier hose.
Each layer can perform a separate function. Metallic layers primarily contribute to pressure containment and mechanical stabilisation, while textile intermediate layers can support temperature resistance, flexibility or the functional separation of individual layers. The performance of the hose system depends not only on the number of layers, but on the carefully coordinated combination of carrier hose, materials, coverage and braid construction. Depending on the design, burst pressures exceeding 1,000 bar are possible.
